Update From August 29th Rehearsal

Hi Chorus,

There are a few things that need to be noted from last Thursday's rehearsal.

First, some details about the children's choir. The following rules apply to the children's choir:

• Children must be between the ages of 10 and 14 or 15 (boys' voices must be prepubescent--not changed yet).
• Please give Cory the names of children you plan to bring into the children's choir. Do not bring random children up to him.
• CC (Children's Choir) rehearsals will start at the beginning of October (Oct. 3 is the first Thursday in October), every Thursday evening, from 7:00-7:30 in the chapel on 2700 N. Center Street--where we are rehearsing presently.
• Children and their parents must be committed to the rehearsal schedule and to performing with us. We don't want add-ins or subtractions once rehearsals begin for the CC.
• In mid-November, the CC will begin to rehearse with The Mountain Harmony Chorus (that's us) at 8 pm. They will stay for our first song, "Star-Led and Wonder Bound," and will then need to be driven home by someone who is NOT in the chorus. Chorus members are not allowed to miss part of rehearsal to run children home. Children may stay through our rehearsal provided they are sitting quietly.
• Parents of CC children need to be made aware that the children will need to come to the dress rehearsal, most likely the day before our performance, and that there will likely be a few Sunday evening rehearsals.

Also, please be aware of some Thursday night conflicts that will necessitate Sunday night rehearsals. These include UEA (AKA fall break) weekend, Halloween and Thanksgiving. We will let you know whether it will be the Sunday before or after the Thursday in question.

First Rehearsal Updates

Hi singers!

A few things were presented at Thursday's rehearsal that you all need to take note of. They are as follows:

• If you want to rent music, there will be a $10 fee to rent it for the season.
• There will be a children's chorus for one of our songs. Rehearsals for this will start in October and will be held at 7:00 on Thursdays--immediately before our rehearsals. Please contact children between the ages of about 10 and 18, whom you know can sing and recruit them for this chorus. Cory doesn't want boys whose voices haven't changed but try to sing "manly" anyway. Let Cory or Karen know how many children you have recruited.
• Our Christmas concert will be held either December 8th, or the 15th. Please reserve these dates on your calendar.
• Karen has taken a full-time, seasonal job and will not be able to switch out the practice audio files on the blog as often as she has in previous seasons. There will be practice files on the blog, she just won't be able to update them on a weekly basis. This means the burden will be more upon you to learn your music correctly.
• We have three new women in our chorus, Ally Allred, who sings Alto, Kimi Pieper, who sings 2nd Soprano, and Sereen Heath, who sings Alto. Welcome! If you know of men who can sing, please recruit them and contact Cory for an audition time.
• Two more pieces of music are in the works, and will hopefully be here by next rehearsal. They are included on the alphabetical list on my last post.

Please come early so that he can pass out music before rehearsal.
